Please note the following for School improvement Plans (SIPs) for 2014: |
| 1.1 |
There are refinements to the body of the SIP, in response to difficulties experienced in 2013. |
| 1.2 |
The Action Plan, which was added as a separate upload in 2013, will now be incorporated in the online SIP – that is, it will not be uploaded separately. This will have the advantage of providing a single integrated plan. |
| 1.3 |
The Action Plan opens with a self-assessment section. |
| 1.4 |
The online tool will be opened on the CEMIS in November so that schools can complete their preliminary planning in 2013. This will include completing the Action Plan section and the general indicators. IMG managers will engage with the draft plans and give advice, where required. IMG managers will sign-off the draft plans by the end of November 2013. |
| 1.5 |
At the beginning of 2014, the 2014 learner enrolment, the results on the WCED systemic tests for Grades 3, 6 and 9, and the National Senior Certificate results will be added as they become available. Schools will then be given until the end of January to update their targets, as required, and sign off their SIPs for 2014. |

An EXCEL version of the plan is attached to assist with the preparation. |

Structured quarterly monitoring (School Improvement Monitoring) will be conducted in 2014 by IMG managers at schools. |
