1. The national Department of Basic Education has issued Circular S3 of 2013 on the revised content on the Domestic Tourism Growth Strategy (DTGS), as contained on pages 9 and 25 of the Grade 11 teaching plan in the Tourism Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) Grades 10 -12.
2. The table below provides the revised DTGS, which must replace the current DTGS on page 25 (Section 2.4.1, point 5) of the Tourism CAPS Grades 10 – 12.

  • The five (5) domestic market segments. Focus on the profile of the segment, why they travel (or not) and the type of travel/holiday they prefer (no percentages needed)
  • The four (4) strategic objectives and targets of the DTGS and the implementation plan to meet these objectives. List and shortly explain the activities/actions (no statistics, role players or time frames).
