In order to assist teachers and learners to prepare for the Grade 12 Business Studies examination of November 2014, Circular No. 7 of 2013 was issued by the Department of Basic Education to provide clarity on the structure of Grade 12 Business Studies examination paper as it appears in the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). |

The table in the attached Annexure A (available only in English and Afrikaans) provides the structure of the Business Studies Grade 12 examination paper, a description of each section, and the marks and time allocations. Teachers and curriculum officials should take particular note of how Section B of the paper has been restructured. |

The contents of this curriculum minute should be read in conjunction with the Business Studies CAPS issued by the Department of Basic Education in January 2012. Note, however, that errors in that CAPS document have now been corrected and the revised statement is to be reprinted.
