The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) thanks all schools that participated in the Annual National Assessments (ANA) of 2012. |

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has indicated that the ANA of 2013 will be written during the third term, from 10 to 13 September 2013. |

The full cohort of Grades 1 to 6 and Grade 9 learners in public ordinary and state-funded independent schools will be required to write the tests in 2013. The timetable will become available once it has been received from the Department of Basic Education (DBE). |

As was the case in 2011 and 2012, all Grades 1 to 6 and 9 scripts will again be marked at school level by the subject teachers. Please factor this into your school's planning. |

The WCED will once again rely on your support in ensuring the successful management and conduct of these assessments. |
