1. The site-based assessment (SBA) tasks for Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) Level 4 are set and moderated by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
2. Learners are required to perform five formal assessment tasks for each learning area. Each task counts a total of 50 marks.
3. The accompanying mark sheet is electronic (a Microsoft Excel document) and the final SBA mark is automatically calculated for each candidate to ensure uniformity in the compilation of SBA marks in all learning areas across all ABET centres and education districts.
4. The centre manager is responsible for all administrative matters pertaining to the SBAs and must ensure that all educators use the accompanying mark sheet in the compilation of SBA marks for ABET Level 4.
5. Centre managers and curriculum advisers are kindly requested to bring the content of this minute to the attention of all ABET Level 4 educators.
