1. In October 2011, the Western Cape Education Department conducted Grade 9 Systemic Tests to test competency levels in Mathematics and Language. The Provincial Minister of Education released the results to the media on 20 January 2012.

2. The processing of the results per school has now been completed and the results will beavailable on the CEMIS from 23 January 2012. Schools are encouraged to access theirresults as soon as possible so as to incorporate them in their plans for improvement. Theschool reports will reflect the pass rates and average scores, as well as an indication ofperformance in each of the areas tested.

3. The school's results can be accessed on the CEMIS by using the following guidelines:

  • Select the menu item "Assessment". On the drop-down menu, select:

    • "Grade 9 LItNum Results 2011".

The results should appear on the screen.

  • Should the results not appear, go to the menu bar at the top and select "Tools". Then select "Pop-up Blocker", select "Turn-on Pop-up Blocker" and click.
  • The "Pop-up Blocker" has now been turned off and may result in the CEMIS restarting.
  • Once this has been completed, select grade 9 to view the results.
