1. The Regulations Pertaining to the Conduct, Administration and Management of Assessment for the National Senior Certificate allow for candidates who have written the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, either as full-time or part-time candidates, and who did not meet the minimum requirements for the NSC, to repeat the examination(s) in one or more subjects.
2. This minute must be read with Assessment Management Minute 0002/2010, which deals with conditions under which repeater candidates can offer the NSC subjects after having written the NSC examinations in the first instance.
3. This minute serves to amend paragraph 5.1 of Assessment Management Minute 0002/2010, which limited the number of subjects which a candidate who has already passed the NSC examinations may offer. These candidates may now enter for any number of subjects they would like to write in the NSC examinations. However, these candidates are still compelled to fulfil all the requirements for each subject, including the applicable school based assessment and/or practical tasks for Grade 12.
4. School principals are kindly requested to bring the contents of this minute to the attention of all concerned.
