The purpose of this Mathematics conference is to provide examples of ways in which Mathematics can be effectively taught.

3. Information for Presenters
3.1 Teachers interested in presenting a Mathematics lesson, a paper on Mathematics teaching or a "best practice" workshop at the conference, should be guided by the following:

  • The lesson or paper or "How I teach it" workshop must address the National Curriculum Statement (NCS) Grades R – 9 and be aligned to Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS).
  • The lesson should teach an aspect of the Mathematics syllabus for a particular grade.

  • Venues will have portable tables and chairs, a data projector, an overhead projector, a whiteboard and flipchart stand with paper.
