The Cape Teaching and Leadership Institute (CTLI) invites all principals to register for this conference either as presenters or participants. |

Purpose
The purpose of this conference is to share ideas, best practice and experience on the management and leadership of an achieving school. |

Date, time and venue
The conference will take place on Thursday, 4 October 2012, from 08:00 to 16:00, and on Friday, 5 October 2012, from 08:00 to 14:00, at the Cape Teaching and Leadership Institute, Nooiensfontein Road, Kuils River. |

Information for presenters |
4.1 |
Persons interested in presenting a paper or a "best practice" workshop at the conference should be guided by the following: |
4.1.1 |
Conference participants should be involved in the workshop. |
4.1.2 |
Duration of presentation: 60 minutes. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for group discussions or questions. |
4.1.3 |
Venues will have portable tables and chairs, a data projector, an overhead projector, a whiteboard and a flipchart stand with paper. |
4.1.4 |
All printed material should be typed and printed on a laser printer, if possible. The WCED will duplicate the material. |
4.1.5 |
An information session for all presenters chosen for the programme will take place on Thursday, 30 August 2012. |
4.2 |
If you are interested in presenting an item on 4 and 5 October 2012, please complete the attached Annexure A and return it to Mr A Lamprecht at e-mail address alamprec@pgwc.gov.za or fax number 021 900 5175/5027/5162 by Friday, 24 August 2012. |

Information for participants |
5.1 |
Principals not wishing to share best practice from their schools, but who would like to attend the conference, are requested to complete Annexure B.

5.2 |
The completed Annexure B must be returned to Mr A Lamprecht at e-mail address alamprec@pgwc.gov.za or fax number 021 900 5175/5027/5162 by Friday, 7 September 2012. |
5.3 |
Registration will close once the first 300 participants are registered. |
5.4 |
The conference programme will include plenary and parallel sessions. Principals registered for the conference will receive details of the conference programme via e-mail by Friday, 21 September 2012. |
6.1 |
Participants travelling further than 120 km per return trip may stay overnight in the CTLI’s hostel on the nights of Wednesday, 3 October and Thursday, 4 October 2012. |
6.2 |
Accommodation at the CTLI hostel will be paid for by the WCED. |
6.3 |
Travel costs will not be covered by the WCED. |
6.4 |
The WCED expects this conference to be an enriching experience for all principals who attend it. |
