In 2012 the national Department of Basic Education (DBE) will supply learners at public schools with workbooks for the subjects and grades indicated in the table below:

In addition to the Grade 10 CAPS textbook orders, Grade 10 learners studying Physical Sciences and Mathematics will be supplied with a supplementary textbook for these subjects. |

use the attached tables (Annexure A), in consultation with the relevant school officials, to decide on the number of workbooks to request for learners and teachers; and |
3.2 |
capture the projected total number of workbooks required per grade, per language and per subject by following the process outlined below:
- Log on to the CEMIS.
- Select the "Administration" option on the Menu.
- Select "Workbook Orders", select the applicable phase (Grade R, Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase, FET Phase).
- Enter the number of workbooks per language and per grade required by your school for 2012.
- Click "Submit" to save your order per phase. When you click the "Submit" tab, you will return to the main menu.
- Continue by selecting the next applicable phase.
- Note that an EMIS projection is provided per grade, per language, per subject.
- The principal must sign off the collated workbook order by selecting the "Sign off" tab on the main menu and completing the sign-off sheet. Principals must sign off their workbook orders on CEMIS by no later than 16:00 on Thursday, 20 October 2011.

Once you have signed off your workbook order on CEMIS, your IMG manager will verify and approve the CEMIS order supplied by your school. |

The information provided by the school will be used to generate the school's workbook order for 2012. |

The DBE has indicated that workbooks (Volume 1) will be delivered to schools by the end of January 2012.

Schools are encouraged to provide the information as soon as possible and to avoid waiting until the last available day before logging onto CEMIS. |
