1. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) hereby announces the publication of Vacancy Lists 4 and 5 of 2011, dated 10 August 2011.

2. Vacancy List 4 is only for persons who wish to apply for principals' posts.
2.1 Persons who apply for the principal posts must use the following links on the WCED website:

2.2 Applicants must note that only online applications for posts in Vacancy List 4 will be accepted.

3. Vacancy List 5 consists of promotion and Post Level 1 posts, excluding principal's posts. The normal application procedure applies to these posts.

4. These vacancy lists are available at the Walk-in Centre of the WCED Head Office and can also be viewed on the WCED Website at http://wced.wcape.gov.za
Note that vacancy lists will not be distributed in hard copy to education institutions.

5. The closing time and date for receipt of applications for both Vacancy List 4 and 5 is 16:00 on Wednesday, 7 September 2011.

6. Vacancy List 6 will follow Vacancy List 5 with the following schedule:

Principals, SGBs and circuit team managers must enter vacancies on website by 29 September 2011
Closing date for circuit team managers to check and verify advertisements 30 September 2011
DATE OF VACANCY LIST 17 October 2011
Closing date for receipt of applications 31 October 2011
WCED sends applications to schools 7 November 2011
SGBs/Schools submit nominations to WCED 23 November 2011
WCED informs applicants of appointments 30 November 2011
Date of appointment 1 January 2012
