Permission has been granted for schools to take their learners to attend theatre performances of prescribed literature at the Artscape Theatre during school time. Attending such a production will be considered to be an educational tour. |

Tickets may also be purchased from Computicket or Shoprite-Checkers. No one will be allowed into the auditorium without a ticket. |

Should you need transport for your learners to and from the theatre, write a short letter requesting transport, indicating numbers and providing a short motivation. Address your request to the following address:

Viewing a production of a prescribed work at a theatre can be seen as an extension of teaching and learning in the classroom. |

Learners will gain deeper insight into the prescribed work, which, in turn, will improve their examination performance. |

Learners will be exposed to a world other than their local community and school environment. |

Learners will be exposed to the arts and theatre as a possible career opportunity. |

Language teachers are encouraged to plan pre-, during- and post-production activities. |

Language teachers are encouraged to make every effort to take their learners to the Artscape Theatre where they can view these live performances. |

Schools will also receive direct communication from the Artscape Theatre. |
