INVITATION
The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) invites all school principals to attend this conference either as presenters or participants.

2. |
PURPOSE
The purpose of this conference is to share ideas, best practice and experience concerning the management and leadership of an achieving school.
|
3. |
INFORMATION FOR PRESENTERS |
3.1 |
Persons interested in presenting a paper or a "best practice" workshop at the conference should be guided by the following:
- Conference participants should be involved in the workshop.
- Duration of presentation: 60 minutes. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for group discussions or questions.
- Venues will have portable tables and chairs, a data projector, an overhead projector, a whiteboard and a flipchart stand with paper.
- All printed material should be typed and printed on a laser printer, if possible. The WCED will duplicate the material.
- An information session for all presenters chosen for the programme will take place on Thursday, 9 June 2011.

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

4.1 |
Principals not wishing to share best practice from their schools, but who would like to attend the conference, are requested to complete Annexure B. |
4.2 |
The completed Annexure B must be returned to Mr A Lamprecht at e-mail address alamprec@pgwc.gov.za or fax number 021 900 5175/5013/5162 by Friday, 29 July 2011. |
4.3 |
Registration will close once the first 300 participants are registered. |
4.4 |
The conference programme will include plenary discussions and parallel sessions. Principals registered for the conference will receive details of the conference programme via e-mail by Friday, 16 September 2011. |
5.1 |
Participants travelling further than 120 km per return trip may stay overnight in the Cape Teaching and Leadership Institute's (CTLI) hostel on the nights of Wednesday, 5 October and Thursday, 6 October 2011. |
5.2 |
Accommodation at the CTLI hostels will be paid for by the WCED. |
5.3 |
Travelling costs will not be covered by the WCED. |
6. |
The WCED expects this conference to be an enriching experience for all principals who attend it. |
