| INTRODUCTION OF eMOBILITY DATA CARDS TO THE WCED |

The moratorium that was placed on the introduction of eMobility to WCED has been lifted by the Head of Department following the endorsement of the PGWC's eMobility data card draft policy, and has been approved by Provincial Top Management (Refer to Annexure E). As from 1 April 2010, applications may be submitted to the Departmental Information Technology Committee (DITCOM) for the procurement of eMobility data cards. |

The data card applications to DITCOM that have been put on hold since 25 November 2008, will be returned to the applicants to confirm their continued validity. Valid applications will be considered for approval using a special DITCOM arrangement. The applicants will also be required to complete and submit the application form attached as Annexure A. |

New applications for data cards must also be submitted on the application form attached as Annexure A. In addition, these new applications must also be accompanied by the usual completed DITCOM application form, with a written motivation giving the applicant's reasons for needing this device. The eMobility procedures and guidelines are explained in detail in the attached Annexure C, and should guide senior management on eligibility of applicants. |

Officials who require access to Departmental sites not available to the public, such as EduInfoSearch, will be required to complete and submit the application form attached as Annexure B. |

Each data card device will cost the applicant R96 (VAT inclusive). Costs will be carried by PGWC until further notice. |

Senior management service (SMS) members will be allocated a 500MB data cap and non-SMS members a 350MB cap. (Please ignore other options on the application form.) If the official requires the data cap to be changed, he or she will be required to complete and submit the application form attached as Annexure D.
