The new NCS-aligned HIV/AIDS learning and teaching support material (LTSM) is currently being compiled by the national Department of Basic Education (DBE). Delivery is expected to take place from April 2010. |

On receipt of this LTSM, Life Orientation teachers are to adjust their work schedules accordingly. |

Note that the HIV/AIDS teacher- and learner books provided by the DBE are additional material which teachers are encouraged to adapt to suit their learners' needs. |

Principals are kindly requested to bring the contents of this minute to the attention of Life Orientation teachers and school HIV/AIDS co-ordinators. |
