CAPE TOWN BOOK FAIR - 31 JULY TO 2 AUGUST 2010

1. As employees of the Western Cape Education Department, we all wish to develop a culture of reading in our schools and communities. Principals are therefore encouraged to use the opportunity presented by the annual international Cape Town Book Fair (CTBF) to promote reading among our young people, their teachers and their parents.
2. The CTBF will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 31 July to 2 August 2010, and will offer numerous events including readings, book launches, panel discussions and seminars.
3. The CTBF will open to the general public and schools from 09:00 to 17:00 daily, from Saturday, 31 July, to Tuesday, 2 August 2010. However, Friday, 30 July, is reserved as a professional day for all exhibitors and trade visitors. The entrance fee is R60 per day for adults, R25 for students and pensioners, and children until the age of 13 enter free.
4. Details of specific events, such as the children's and youth programmes, will appear in the media and also on the Internet at http://www.capetownbookfair.com . For further information, please contact the CTBF office at telephone number 021 418 5493 or e-mail address info@capetownbookfair.co.za . One can also register on the "Programme" page of the above website to receive the CTBF Newsletter.
