1. The attached claim form (Addendum A) must be completed in black ink by the chief invigilator for him or herself and for each assistant invigilator invigilating at a particular examination centre. The number of sessions must be confirmed by the principal or centre manager, who must countersign the claim form.
2. The Department must be notified in writing of any change in an invigilator's address that occurred after submitting the nomination form.
3. Prisons using invigilators other than their own staff are requested to inform the Department in writing of such arrangements.
4. Invigilators will be remunerated at the following Departmental tariffs (subject to change):

Chief invigilator R 129,85 per session

Assistant invigilator R 86,55 per session

You are reminded that independent schools and colleges are responsible for the remuneration of their invigilators.

6. Claims received for replacement invigilators will be processed only if the correct nomination and appointment procedure has been followed.
7. Please ensure that only the prescribed number of assistant invigilators per session are used. An explanatory letter must accompany a claim for additional invigilators.

As the National Senior Certificate Examinations end on 03 December 2010, it will not be possible for the Department to transfer the funds into the bank accounts before schools close on 10 December 2010. The Department will, however do its utmost to finalise all payments by 13 January 2011. In order to process the invigilators' claims timeously, you are requested to ensure that claim forms reach the Department by 06 December 2010.
9. The claim form provides columns for chief invigilators who attended the compulsory training sessions. Claimants must indicate the distance they travelled, and whether from within a radius of 75 km or from beyond that radius. They may claim for only one training session if travelling from within a radius of 75 km, or for two sessions if travelling from beyond that radius.
