EXAMINATIONS ADMINISTRATION MINUTE: 0023/2010 |
TO: | EDUCATION DISTRICT DIRECTORS, IMG MANAGERS, PRINCIPALS OF HIGH, SECONDARY AND SPECIAL SCHOOLS, ADULT LEARNING CENTRE MANAGERS AND HEADS OF COLLEGES WHICH PREPARE CANDIDATES FOR THE NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS |
| NOVEMBER 2010 NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS - SUBJECT CHANGES IN EXAMINATION VENUES |
1. |
The attention of principals and chief invigilators is drawn to the policy that subject changes in examination venues during the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations will not be allowed. The NSC is a three-year qualification and School Based Assessment marks must have been generated by candidates during the Grade 12 year. Allowing subject changes in examination venues is, therefore, contrary to the NSC policy and regulations. |
2. |
The WCED has allowed adequate time during 2010 to ensure that entries are correct. All subject changes in the first and second term on CEMIS have been approved. A preliminary schedule of entries were also sent to institutions in August 2010. After these three opportunities, there should be no incorrect registrations of candidates on the system. |
3. |
Please inform chief invigilators about this policy. However, if a situation arises as a result of an incorrect entry, principals must contact the WCED at one of the following telephone numbers:
Mr JL Molfert |
021 467 2915 |
Ms G Laguma |
021 467 2913 |
Ms L van Rensburg |
021 467 2912 |
Mr L van Gensen |

Your co-operation in this regard will be appreciated. |
