| LIFE ORIENTATION (FET) - TEACHER TRAINING IN THE PACE School-to-Work PROGRAMME |

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is arranging training for FET Life Orientation teachers to ensure that all teachers are confident and competent to deliver career guidance to learners. |
| 2. |
A training course in the PACE: School-to-Work Programme will be offered to teachers of Life Orientation, Grades 10 to 12 who have not yet received training in this programme. This one-day course will be held on 16 October 2010 at Ravensmead Secondary School, Uilswater Road, (off De la Rey Road), Ravensmead, PAROW, as well as at Esselenpark Secondary School, Buitekant Street, WORCESTER, from 8:30 to 16:00. |

ONE FET teacher per school is invited to attend the course provided he/she has not attended the same course in 2009. |

Teachers from the rural districts will be reimbursed for travel expenses. Teachers who intend claiming for these expenses must have the following information available at the course:
- PERSAL number
- Engine capacity of the vehicle used and year of manufacture
- The distance in kilometres from their school to the training venue

Teachers from the rural districts who require accommodation must make their own arrangements. They must submit their claims for accommodation expenses on the last day of the course before they leave. |

The attached registration form (Annexure A) must be completed by the teacher who will be attending the course. Principals are requested to fax the completed registration form to Mrs DJ Christiaans at fax no. 021 467 2258 by 10 September 2010. |

Principals are requested to bring the contents of this minute to the attention of Life Orientation teachers. |
