REVISION PROGRAMME IN FEBRUARY-MARCH 2011 FOR CANDIDATES WRITING SUPPLEMENTARY NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS


1. The WCED is offering a revision programme during February-March 2011 to assist candidates writing the supplementary National Senior Certificate (NCS) examinations. The revision programme commences on 1 February and ends on 13 March 2011. It will be held from 15:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and from 14:00 to 18:00 on Sundays. Lessons will be conducted by experienced Grade 12 teachers through live broadcasts to selected centres in the eight education districts of the Western Cape.

2. The NCS subjects to be offered are the following:

  • Mathematics
  • Physical Sciences
  • Accounting
  • Geography
  • Life Sciences
  • English FAL
  • Afrikaans HL
3. The attached Annexure A provides the lessons timetable.

4. Candidates who wish to take advantage of this opportunity are required to register by 25 January 2011 at the centre nearest to their place of residence. (See Annexure B for the location of these centres.)
4.1 Candidates may register for as many of the above subjects as they wish.
4.2 The completed registration form (Annexure C) must be hand delivered or posted to the nearest centre by no later than 25 January 2011.
4.3 Candidates are requested to bring the relevant question paper(s) they wrote in October- November 2010 and their own stationery to the lessons.

5. Candidates who do not have access to the centres listed in Annexure B can purchase support lessons on DVDs at a nominal price from the WCED by completing the order form (Annexure D) and faxing it to EDUMEDIA at 021 685 7421.

6. Principals are requested to provide a copy of the revision timetable and the appropriate forms to each candidate who qualifies for the February-March supplementary examinations on the day they collect their results at the school.
