The Directorate: Quality Assurance wishes to thank all schools for their co-operation during 2008 and, where applicable, for honouring the due dates on IQMS calendar for education during 2008.

In accordance with the Collective Agreement 8 of 2003, which deals with the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS), educators are required to carry out the performance appraisal process annually, which will determine their pay progression.

When educators move from one school to another, it is important that their IQMS documents are also transferred to the new school so as to ensure continuity in the IQMS process. The attached flow chart illustrates the procedure that must be followed if IQMS documents are to reach the receiving school timeously.

IQMS calendars have been sent to schools and each educator should have received one.

New entrants to the teaching profession should be trained within the prescribed time. This training is the responsibility of the School Development Team. However, the WCED also offers two training sessions per district annually for new educators. IQMS co-ordinators will be furnishing schools with further details.
