The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) realises the importance of providing its employees with the necessary guidance and support for adopting a healthy lifestyle. Its Employee Health and Wellness Programme provides employees with assistance to cope with life challenges which may have a negative impact on their work productivity.

Substance abuse, especially drug abuse, is on the rise in the Western Cape and it affects our employees to a lesser or greater extent.

The EWP is there to provide support and guidance and is free. Just dial the toll-free number at 0800 20 44 81 for access. This service is provided by an independent service provider, providing professional advice through registered clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.
