1. Applications are invited from persons who wish to act as chief markers, markers or moderators of the learning areas assessed during the June and October 2009 ABET Level 4 Examinations. These persons must meet the general criteria in paragraph 2 below. The list of learning areas is attached as Addendum A.

2. General criteria
2.1 Teaching experience: Appropriate teaching experience, including experience at Level 4 in the learning area concerned
2.2 Qualifications: A recognised three-year teaching qualification
2.3 Learning area competence: Expertise in the relevant area

3. Applications
3.1 Applications must be made on the attached application form. An applicant must complete a separate application for each learning area for which he or she applies.
3.2 Certified copies of qualification certificates must accompany each completed application form from first-time applicants. Applicants who have marked these examinations in the past, do not have to submit such documents. If these documents do not accompany an application form of a first-time applicant, the application will not be considered. No exceptions will be made and no correspondence will be conducted with applicants in this regard.
3.3 All application forms must be signed by the principal or centre manager (in the case of educators), or by directors or delegated persons (in the case of principals, senior curriculum planners, chief curriculum advisers and curriculum advisers). Unsigned forms will be returned to the applicants.
3.4 All applications must be submitted to the following address by 15 April 2009. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
