The Letterkundeondersteuningskomitee (LOK) hereby invites all teachers of Afrikaans to Grade 12 learners to the 2010 symposium, which will be presented at the University of the Western Cape on Friday, 19 February 2010 from 14:30 to 16:45 and on Saturday, 20 February 2010, from 09:00 to 13:00. |

The main aim of the symposium is to support the teaching of literature, but there will also be a focus on other disciplines, such as speaking, writing and grammar. The programme will be
available on the FET Afrikaans website (http://curriculum.pgwc.gov.za) by 19 November 2009. |

The registration fee for the 2010 symposium is R75.00 per person. Interested persons can deposit this amount in the ABSA cheque account of the SBA (Stigting vir Bemagtiging deur Afrikaans). The account number is 550145847, branch code 632005. Cheques must be made out to Stigting vir Bemagtiging deur Afrikaans. Please use the acronym LOK and the name of the school as a reference when depositing. The SBA will be responsible for the administrative and logistical arrangements for the LOK Symposium. |

Prospective participants must complete the accompanying registration form (Annexure A) and fax it, together with the proof of payment, to Ms Christine Francke of the SBA at fax no. 021 446 1012 by no later than 9 October 2009. Once again, please use the acronym LOK and the name of the school as a reference. (The SBA's telephone number is 021 446 1376.) |

To assist the organisers of the LOK Symposium, teachers are requested to meet the above-mentioned deadline, as no late entries will be accepted. |
