1. Management Accounting Minute 0007/2007, dated 19 November 2007, informed all concerned of the commencement in February or March 2008 of a pilot course leading to the attainment of a Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM). The course would accommodate 150 people and WCED-employed non-teaching staff at schools was invited to apply for admission.

2. However, owing to unforeseen circumstances regarding registration of the CSBM, the course has had to be postponed until the middle of 2008. The pilot course, which will be run over a period of ±13 months, will now end in August or September 2009.

3. The applications that were received by the due date are still being sifted as more than half of the applicants did not attach proof of their qualifications. The selection process will then begin. Applicants who have not received a reply by 25 April 2008 may assume that they have not been successful.

4. The successful applicants will be contacted towards the end of April 2008 and meetings will be arranged with them and the principals of their schools to explain the arrangements for and presentation of the course.

5. Employees will once again be invited to apply for admission to the CSBM course in 2009. Further correspondence in this regard will be sent to all schools in the third quarter of 2008.
