Schools and districts are requested to make their own internal arrangements for the setting, moderating and the conducting of the 2008 Grade 12 preparatory examinations.

The Grade 12 exemplar question papers, together with the relevant national curriculum statements, subject assessment guidelines and examination guidelines, where available, must be consulted when setting the preparatory examination question papers.

The standard and form of the preparatory examination question papers must be comparable to that of the exemplar question papers.

During September and October 2008, schools will be provided with question papers and marking memoranda in selected subjects, which must be used by schools for revision purposes in preparing candidates for the final NSC examinations. The Directorate: Assessment Management will provide these question papers and marking memoranda on its web site at http://curriculum.pgwc.gov.za/site/22/page/view/ after the preparatory examinations have been written.
