1. This minute replaces point 3 in Assessment Management Minute 0009/2008.
2. The following procedure must be followed for Music Paper 2 (Music Comprehension):

2.1 The WCED will provide each school or examination centre with a compact disk (CD) in advance.
2.2 The CD will be packaged separately from the question papers for Music Paper 2.
2.3 The chief invigilator must acknowledge receipt of the CD and must keep the CD in a safe place.
2.4 Schools may not make copies of the CD and only the original CD may be used.
2.5 A week before the examination, the Music teacher must test the CD and the sound equipment that will be used during the examination, in the presence of the chief invigilator. All the tracks must be tested.
2.6 The music teacher and chief invigilator must sign that they have opened and checked the CD.
2.7 If the CD is faulty, Mr Clive Berry, of the Directorate: Examinations, must be informed immediately at 021 467 2265.
2.8 On the day of the examination, the Music teacher must check the CD an hour before the commencement of the examination.
2.9 Each musical extract (track) must be played the number of times specified in the question paper. Adequate time should be allowed between repeated tracks to allow candidates to write their answers before the next track is played.
2.10 Under no circumstances may the playing of a track be repeated at the request of candidates.
2.11 The CD player must be equipped with batteries to ensure that the musical extracts can be played in the event of a power failure.
2.12 A suitable room and sound equipment must be used to ensure good sound and acoustics.
2.13 This examination must be completed in 1½ hours.
2.14 All candidates must leave the examination room after the scheduled time has expired. No candidate may be allowed to leave before the scheduled time has expired.
2.15 The examination must be conducted in the presence of the chief invigilator.

3. We thank you for your support and co-operation.
