1. The systemic focus of the Human Capital Development Strategy on the youth ensures that the WCED meets its mandate to provide information to the youth so that they may take advantage of the various employment and entrepreneurial opportunities which the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (PGWC) offers through a variety of different strategies.
2. The MEDS provides researched-based projections on future growth that the WCED needs to make available to all teachers, learners and parents. The PERO focuses on ways in which all types of people in the Western Cape can, primarily through education, benefit from economic growth and integrated development.
3. In order to reduce unemployment, the WCED must inform learners of possible career paths and provide them with researched-based predictions on future economic growth and the economic vision of the PGWC.
4. Enclosed herewith are copies of the executive summaries of the MEDS and PERO for all public schools in the Western Cape.
5. Please bring this minute to the attention of all employees in your institution or office.
