"Quality Assurance: Increasing Accountability and Improving Quality" Conference
The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is pleased to announce a provincial conference, "Quality Assurance: Increasing accountability and improving quality", for school managers, educators and officials to be held on 7 and 8 September 2007.

The conference venue will be in Cape Town. Details will be provided in May 2007.

| 1.2 |
Registration will take place on Friday, 7 September 2007, at 9:00 and proceedings for the day will end at 19:00. On Saturday, 8 September 2007, the sessions will run from 8:30 to 15:30.

The conference programme will include papers on the latest developments in Quality in Education and will be presented by national and international speakers.

| 1.4 |
The conference will initiate discussions amongst stakeholders on Quality Assurance management within the education system and it will emphasise the importance of accountability in order to improve quality in education, as well as provide a platform for generating ideas on improving quality management within the system.

The conference fee is R100 per delegate (to cover venue hire, printing and refreshments, which will include teas and two lunches).
|
| 2.2 |
Travel sponsorship is available to those delegates who will travel further than 250km to the venue (i.e. a round trip of 500km).
|
| 2.3 |
Delegates who will need accommodation for the duration of the conference will have to cover their own accommodation expenses.
|
| 3.1 |
As the conference will be accommodating only 500 delegates, it is necessary for interested delegates to register as soon as possible.

Registration forms will be made available by the Directorate: Quality Assurance during May 2007.
