1. Principals are requested to bring the following instructions to the attention of learners for the practical examination in Dance well in advance.
1.1 Learners are not permitted to wear nail polish, make-up or jewellery.
1.2 Learners must warm up before the examination.

1.3 Female Classical Ballet learners
1.3.1 must enter the examination venue dressed in leotards, pink tights and pink ballet shoes - preferably flat or soft pointe shoes with pink ribbons.
1.3.2 may wear additional skirts for the variations or group dances.
1.3.3 may wear small flowers in the hair.

1.4 Male Classical Ballet learners must wear black tights, white tops, ballet shoes and white socks.

1.5 African Dance and Contemporary Dance learners
1.5.1 must wear leotards and footless tights of any colour.
1.5.2 must be barefooted.

1.6 Spanish Dance learners must wear leotards, practice skirts and the required shoes.

1.7 Each learner must bring his or her Admission Letter (examination number) to the examination venue.

1.8 Learners may take a towel into the examination venue.

2. Drinking water may be provided to learners.

3. Sixty percent (60%) of the CASS requirements including all practical marks, must be available at the practical external examinations venue for moderation purposes. Evidence to support the allocation of marks should be available for perusal e.g. portfolios, assessment checklists and marksheets.

4. Please find attached the External Practical Dance Examination Schedule (Annexure A).
