The national Department of Education (DoE) has approved a proposal put to HEDCOM on 6 June 2007 to support all full-time learners who fail the 2007 Senior Certificate examinations in their preparation for the Senior Certificate examinations in May/June 2008.

2.1 |
Candidates who wish to access this support will be required to register on 26 January 2008 at the venue that is closest to them. (See Annexure A)

2.2 |
Learners will be able to register for a maximum of 3 subjects.
|
2.3 |
Candidates will receive all the necessary information regarding the exact venues, procedures for registration and tuition with their results at the end of the year.

3.1 |
Tuition will be offered in 16 subjects at 30 venues across the province.
|
3.2 |
Registration will take place at the identified venues on 26 January 2008.
|
3.3 |
Fifteen x 1.5 hours contact sessions will be conducted on Saturdays, starting 2 February 2008.

3.4 |
Experienced tutors will be identified by Senior Curriculum Planners in collaboration with Curriculum Advisers, from the applications received.

3.5 |
Study guides will be provided by the WCED Head Office curriculum staff.

3.6 |
Grade 12 textbooks for the different subjects will be sourced from schools.

4.1 |
Teachers with experience in teaching Grade 12 and marking Senior Certificate scripts are invited to apply as tutors by completing the attached application form. (See Annexure B)

4.2 |
The application form must be signed by the teacher and the principal.
|
4.3 |
Tutors will be remunerated at the hourly rate as per the PAM document.

4.4 |
The completed application form must be posted to
