The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is responsible for providing public ordinary education from Grade 10 to Grade 12 in accordance with the South African Schools Act, 1996.

In fulfilling its obligation, one of the important goals of the WCED is to establish the functionality of science laboratories and the stock on hand.

In order to do this, the WCED requires each of its public ordinary schools offering Physical Science / Physical Sciences, Biology / Life Sciences and/or Agricultural Science in Grade 10-12, to conduct an audit of its laboratories and indicate its current stock on hand. To assist with this task, a questionnaire is attached.

The questionnaire must be completed by all the schools concerned and returned to Head Office by 01 November 2007. The completed questionnaires must be sent to:
