The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has once again been approached by the organisers of the Shoprite Checkers/SABC 2 Women of the Year Awards to submit nominations for this prestigious award.

Awards will be made in the following seven categories:
Social Welfare
Arts and Culture
Business Entrepreneurs
Education
Health
Sport
Science and Technology

The WCED will welcome nominations in all categories. However, nominations for the Education category would be our main focus.

All deputy directors-general, chief directors, directors (Head Office and EMDCs), circuit managers, heads of educational institutions, gender focal persons and all staff are encouraged to nominate women who have made a meaningful contribution to their community and raised the status of women within the WCED for this prestigious award.

It would be appreciated if you submit nominations on the attached form to the Head: Education, for attention, CM Lee Shong, Room 873, Western Cape Education Department, Private Bag X9114, Cape Town, 8000, by no later than 25 April 2006. Entry boxes will also be provided at all EMDCs.
