1. To ensure effective financial management in public schools, the Western Cape Education Department must, as far as is practically possible, provide training to persons responsible for such financial management. These persons include the following:
  • Principals

  • Governing body members

  • Financial officers or bursars

  • Secretaries

2. In order to provide suitable training, the needs of the target group must be established by means of a skills audit. The full and accurate completion of the attached survey form is, therefore, essential as the information provided will be used to decide on training priorities for 2006 and 2007.
3. Each person in your school referred to in paragraph 1 above, must complete the survey form and send it, by Monday, 30 January 2006, to Ms Rosemary Swartz (Secretary: Human Resource Development Directorate) at fax number 021 467 2694.
