1. Quality Assurance Minute 002/2005 informed all concerned of the schedule for the submission of the summative scores for the cycle of 1 January – 31 December 2005. The due date for submission of scores to Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) co-ordinators in the EMDCs was 30 November 2005.
2. You are reminded that the summative scores of 2005 are a pre-requisite for any institution-based educator to qualify for pay progression in July 2006, provided that the educator receives an ‘Acceptable’ score. Educators whose summative scores have not yet been received should note that these delays will have implications for the moderation and administrative processes.
3. The successful implementation of the IQMS depends on the co-operation of principals, educators and district staff. Principals are responsible for ensuring that the summative scores of all educators who are remunerated by the WCED are submitted in the correct format to the IQMS co-ordinators by the due date. Principals are also responsible for ensuring that the new (2006) cycle has been implemented since January 2006. Failure to adhere to the schedule will have serious consequences for the management of the next cycle.
4. While we have experienced excellent co-operation from most schools, there are a few school which have not yet submitted their scores. A final reminder is hereby given to this latter group to ensure that all outstanding summative scores reach the IQMS co-ordinator by no later than 14 March 2006.
5. Principals are reminded of the importance of adhering to the due dates for 2006, as provided in the IQMS calendar included with Quality Assurance Minute 0001/2006.
