1. The implementation of the 2006 cycle of the Integrated Quality Management System is on track. Whole School Evaluation (WSE) has been conducted at several schools and we wish to thank the staff of those schools for their positive response to the feedback given by the WSE teams.
2. With a view to further consolidating, refining and integrating the three elements (Development Appraisal, Performance Measurement and Whole School Evaluation) of the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS), the Directorate: Quality Assurance is planning to offer training to various groups of important stakeholders.
3. The intention is to deliver the training between October 2006 and April 2007. While specific dates have not yet been finalised, it would be helpful if the proposed target groups could be notified of the intended capacity building sessions which are reflected on the attached schedule. It should be kept in mind that the WSE co-ordinator at the school level should be a member of the staff development team (SDT).
4. For training intervention 1, 10 to 12 sessions will be held in each EMDC and for training intervention 2, 15 to 20 sessions will be held in each EMDC. Two sessions per EMDC will be conducted for training intervention 3.
5. You will receive all the necessary information as soon as the dates have been finalised. The IQMS co-ordinator in the district office will allocate schools to specific venues so that the training process can be co-ordinated effectively.
6. Your assistance in communicating the relevant information to the identified staff is appreciated.
