1. Principals are requested to encourage learners to apply for a SAICA bursary, worth up to R50 000 each, for the year 2007.
2. The bursaries will enable the recipients to study at either the University of Cape Town (UCT) or Stellenbosch University (US).
3. The following are the admissions requirements of the universities:

STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY:

  • Full Matriculation Exemption

  • Average mark of 70% (B)

  • Accounting or Mathematics 70% (HG) (B)

  • Mathematics at least 70% (SG) (B) or 60% (HG) (C) if only the above Accounting requirement is met

UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN:

  • Full Matriculation Exemption

  • Mathematics 70% (HG) (B) or 80% (SG) (B)

  • Overall score of 52 points, with Mathematics and English scores doubled

The following is the points key: 

HG   A= 8, B=7, C=6, D=5, E=4, F=2
SG   A=6, B=5, C=4, D=3, E=2, F=1
