1. This Examination Minute must be read in conjunction with the following documents:
2. This Examination Minute replaces Examination Minute 0020/2005: Senior Certificate Examination: November 2006 and March Supplementary 2007: Geography.
3. The examination assessment guidelines for Geography have been updated by the National Department of Education and will apply to the Senior Certificate Examinations of November 2006 to March 2008.
4. Hard copies of these National Assessment Guidelines have been sent to schools offering Geography as a subject. The Guidelines are also available on the WCED website.
5. Principals of schools, managers of community learning centres and Academic Heads of Colleges must note that it is important that Grade 12 learners be exposed to the format of the question papers concerned, as given in the guideline document, before they write the Senior Certificate Examination in 2006.
6. It must also be noted that the industrial regions to be examined have changed for the Senior Certificate Examination of November 2006 and the supplementary examination of March 2007 and are as follows:

  Geography Higher Grade: PWV-Gauteng and ONE other major industrial region

  Geography Standard Grade: PWV-Gauteng and ONE other major industrial region
