1. Schools were sent national exemplar question papers for Grade 10 earlier this month. The national department has since released the suggested answers for these exemplar papers.
2. Enclosed with this minute, please find the suggested answers which could be used as memoranda for the Grade 10 question papers.
2.1 Principals must use the checklist provided to determine whether all the suggested answers relevant to their schools have been provided.
2.2 Principals are reminded to ensure that the exemplars are utilised effectively by the subject teams to set their final Grade 10 examination papers for the school. However, under no circumstances may the exemplars be used a final examination paper.
2.3 Curriculum Minute 0072/2006 invited schools to fax comment on the national question papers to the Director: Curriculum Development at fax no. 021 467 2620. The Department much appreciates the responses that have already been received from schools.
2.4 Schools still have the opportunity to respond by the 11 October 2006. Responses must be made on a school letterhead, using the heading: Grade 10 National Exemplar Question Papers. Schools may also post their responses to the address below, FOR ATTENTION: MR J. PARBHOO, or e-mail them to jparbhoo@pgwc.gov.za
3. Schools are requested to direct any communication regarding shortages of question papers to Mr C Berry of the Examinations Directorate at tel. no. 021 467 2265 or at e-mail address cberry@pgwc.gov.za
