Accounting Higher and Standard Grades are Senior Certificate subjects set by the national Department of Education.

Unlike previous years, the English and Afrikaans versions of the question paper will, from 2006, begin at opposite ends of the question paper. The national department has indicated that this format is easier for candidates to use and will prevent unnecessary wasting of time.

A special answer book for the Accounting examination will also be provided as from 2006. The English and Afrikaans versions will begin at opposite ends of the book.
