GRADE 10 RESULTS: SUMMARY SHEET
1.1 |
As this is the first year of the implementation of the NCS in Grade 10, it is vitally important that the WCED undertakes a complete analysis of the Grade 10 results. Principals are therefore requested to complete the attached Grade 10 Summary Sheet (Addendum A) and submit it electronically on an Excel spreadsheet (e -mail hevanzyl@pgwc.gov.za) and by faxing the attached form (For attention: H.van Zyl, Gr 10) to 021 467 2258.
1.2 |
As all data must be collated for analysis and presentation to the MEC and the Minister of Education, principals are requested to personally ensure that the summary sheet is submitted by 4 December 2006.

END-OF-YEAR SCHEDULE: GRADE 10 2006
2.1 |
As in the past, a schedule is required to authorise the progression, promotion or retention of a learner. The end-of-year schedule must be signed by the principal and a departmental official. Once the schedule has been signed by the principal and a departmental official, it constitutes a legal document and should be kept at school in a file or box, or electronically, as part of the school archives.
2.2 |
The National Protocol on Assessment provides minimum requirements for the elements in the schedule.
2.3 |
It is important that there is clarity and consistency with regard to the schedules in use in the Western Cape Education Department.
2.4 |
Attached to this minute is an example of a schedule (Addendum B) for use in 2006. Schools may, for the end of 2006, either use this example or the format currently utilised by a particular school, provided that the schedule complies with the minimum requirements as stipulated by the National Protocol on Assessment, October 2005.
2.5 |
At the end of each year, signed and approved hard copies of schedules must be given to circuit managers of EMDCs for filing purposes.
Your full co-operation will be appreciated.
