The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, (Act 108 of 1996) provides a framework for a clear understanding of basic human rights. It also gives guidelines for the practical application of those rights in our daily lives.

With reference to these rights and, in particular, to the protection of the rights of women and children, educational institutions are requested to plan and develop special programmes, including special meetings, talks, debates, assemblies and other activities, leading up to and for the celebration of Human Rights Day.

Attached please find the second and third flyers, which will be followed by a brochure, in connection with Human Rights Day that could serve as guidelines for organising your programmes.
