The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) web site now offers heads of educational institutions a self-explanatory and user friendly draft vacancy list database which will enable them to correct mistakes in advertisements, add advertisements for vacancies, and alter other data, for example school addresses, that are incorrect.
2. This list will be available for corrections and additions between the period 15 February 2005 until 23 February 2005. Please refer to Personnel Minute (Educators) 0008/2004 of 31 December 2004.
3. This facility can be accessed as follows:

  • Go to WCED website at http://wced.wcape.gov.za

  • Go to At your service

  • Click on Administrators

  • Click on Draft Vacancy List

  • Log in screen appears

  • Type in user ID (Emis number)

  • Type in password (Pin number)

  • Click on execute

  • Open Personnel Management Menu

  • Click on Draft Vacancy List
4. We remind you that the WCED website provides a service for unemployed educators looking for posts and for schools who are in need of contract educators. It also serves as a tool for monitoring the appointment process. (See Minute 0001/2004 of 10 March 2004 in this regard.)
5. All supervisors, especially principals are once again called upon to make use of this web page in order to eliminate unnecessary telephone enquiries.
