The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) hereby confirms that its Vacancy List No. 2/2005, in which vacant educator posts at educational institutions are advertised, has been available since Friday, 5 August 2005 on its Website at http://wced.wcape.gov.za (click on Quick Links and then Vacancy List).

Unfortunately, the original publication date of 29 July 2005 for Vacancy List 2/2005, as indicated in Minute 0010/2005, could not be met as a large number of schools had not completed their advertisements on the Website by the due date of 25 July 2005. Therefore, in an effort to provide institutions with an additional opportunity to advertise their vacancies, the WCED decided to postpone the issuing of Vacancy List 2/2005 by one week to 5 August 2005. This means that this vacancy list has been made available a week later to prospective applicants (educators and students). Note, however, that the due dates for the submission of applications, except for applications with regard to the rest of the roster, and the submission of nominations remain unaltered.

The postponement of the date of publication of the vacancy list by a week placed the division working with the vacancy list under great pressure. Schools are earnestly requested to strictly comply in future with such requests by the due date so that planned schedules can be implemented.

Kindly bring this minute to the attention of all educators in your institution, office or directorate. Principals are also requested to ensure that a copy of this minute is given to the chairperson of the school governing body for that body’s information and attention.
