1. It has come to the attention of the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) that visiting officials are not adhering to the parking instructions as set out in Circular 0005/2002 of 12 February 2002.
2. The WCED rents 12 parking bays for visitors. To ensure that visitors always use these parking bays, if available, and to avoid unnecessary expenses, the following measures are applicable.
2.1 Applications for parking must be submitted in writing to Mr H.J. Fisher before the intended visit. The attached application form must be duly completed by the visitor or the official who will be visited and faxed to (021) 467 2996 or delivered manually to Room 608. (Telephone reservations will be accepted only in cases of an emergency.)
2.2 Applicants will be informed by telephone whether their applications have been approved and, if so, of the number of the parking bay.
2.3 In the parking garage the visitor must take the parking admission ticket and go to the parking bay concerned
2.4 In the course of the visit the official or someone on his or her behalf, must collect an authorisation disc at Room 608.
2.5 When leaving, the visiting official must use the right-hand exit lane and hand the parking admission ticket and the authorisation disc to the attendant at the boom.
3. Visitors who do not follow the above-mentioned procedure may not use official visitors’ bays and will have to pay the normal parking tariffs.
4. Officials who arrange contracts for the delivery of items or place orders for goods must indicate clearly that parking fees will be for the account of the contractor, company or supplier.
5. Your co-operation will be appreciated.
