1. The Directorate: Logistical Services receives many requests for the procurement of goods and services and it appears that responsibility managers describe items such as stationery (pens, pencils, envelopes, etc.) and equipment (cabinets, chairs, tables, etc.) incorrectly.
2. To ensure that the required items are ordered in accordance with the descriptions and the Item Control Number (ICN) and delivered correctly by suppliers, the attached catalogue must be used when goods and services are ordered. An example of an ICN and its relevant description on the requisition (VA2) is attached.
3. Should you experience problems in identifying items according to ICN, you may contact Mr D Baugaard at telephone 021 467 2672 or Mr P Venter at telephone (021) 467 2816 for assistance. Further assistance in identifying items is provided to persons at director level on the included compact disc (CD) which contains detailed information regarding A-Class items. If necessary, directorates may make copies of this CD.
