1. Schools were requested by means of Logistical Services Minute 0006/2005 of 28 February 2005 to indicate which textbooks they were going to purchase for the various grades for 2006. Lists of such titles had to be submitted electronically together with form WCED 032 by 25 April 2005.
2. The WCED has established from the Publishers' Association of South Africa (PASA) that the Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) for Grades 7 and 10 is not yet available. However, the LTSM for these grades will be available at the exhibitions at the educator training sessions during the June 2005 school holidays. Principals will then be able to make informed decisions in respect of the material that they will require for these grades.
3. The LTSM for all other grades is available and requisitions for this must still be submitted to
The LTSM Project Manager
Block C, Metropole East
Nooiensfontein Road
Kuils River
7580

before 25 April 2005.

4. Non-section 21 schools are therefore requested to do the following:
4.1 Submit the schedules for all grades EXCEPT Grades 7 and 10 electronically together with their WCED 032 forms before 25 April 2005 to the address given in Logistical Services Minute 0006/2005.
4.2 Submit the schedules of titles that will be purchased for Grades 7 and 10 to the same address (see 4.1) by Monday 1 August 2005.
4.3 Retain a portion of their allocation earmarked for the purchase of LTSM for the purchase of titles for Grades 7 and 10.
4.4 Submit requisitions for LTSM to
The LTSM Project Manager
Block C, Metropole East
Nooiensfontein Road
Kuils River

before 5 August 2005.

5. Section 21 schools are requested to do the following:
5.1 Submit their schedules of titles for all grades except Grades 7 and 10 electronically to the address given in Logistical Services Minute 0006/2005 before 25 April 2005.
5.2 Submit their schedules for LTSM for Grades 7 and 10 to the same address (see 5.1) before 1 August 2005.
5.3 Retain a portion of their LTSM budget for Grades 7 and 10 so that the LTSM can be ordered timeously so as to be available when schools reopen in 2006.
6. A curriculum minute regarding the subject selection for Grade 10 will follow shortly.
7. It is imperative that all schools adhere to the above requests. Principals must please ensure that a copy of this minute is given to the chairperson of the school governing body.
8. Your co-operation will be appreciated.
