1. RE-MARKING OF SCRIPTS

Candidates’ scripts may be re-marked in the following cases:

1.1 A learner who failed one or more learning areas at the Abet Level 4 examination may have his/her script(s) in such learning areas (s) re-marked.
1.2 Applications for re-marking of scripts, together with the prescribed fee, of R70.00 per subject, should reach the department not later than thirty (30) days after the examination results are officially released. No application for the re-marking/re-checking/viewing of scripts will be considered unless the prescribed amount accompanies the application before the stipulated period.
1.3 NB: The closing date for Re-marking of the October - November 2005 examination scripts is thirty ( 30 ) days after the examination results are officially released.
1.4 Each learner will be notified of the result of his/her re-mark and no results will be made known telephonically.
2. RE-CHECKING OF SCRIPTS
2.1 Learners are allowed to apply for their scripts to be checked yet again to ensure that all answers had been marked and that the marks had been processed correctly.
2.2 Application to have scripts re-checked must be made within 30 days after the examination results have been announced. The cost is R12.00 per subject and is not refundable.
2.3 Applicants will be notified by letter and, where applicable by an amended Advice of Results, about the results of the re-checking of scripts.
3. VIEWING OF SCRIPTS
3.1 Learners may view their scripts at R150.00 per subject, if they are not satisfied with the outcome of the remark. The amount is not refundable.
3.2 A written motivation for the request must be submitted to the Head of Education within thirty (30) days after the results of the re-mark of scripts have been announced.
3.3 A learner will be allowed to view the script(s) concerned and may in view thereof lodge a complaint within a period of seven days. The Department will then take a final decision on the results.

NB: Applications for the viewing of scripts, together with the prescribed fee, must reach the Department by no later than sixty (60) days after the examination results were announced officially. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED AFTER THAT DATE.

4. REFUNDING OF REMARKING
4.1 Refunds for re-marking will be made once the complete re-marking process has been finalised. Expenditure incurred for the re-marking of any subject will be refunded if, as  a result of the re-marking, the learner;
(a) passes a learning area (s) which he or she initially failed;
(b) and where a change in symbol occured
4.2 The fee for re-marking is R70,00 per subject. It is essential that the receipt which is issued is kept in a safe place.
5. APPLICATIONS
5.1 Application for remarking or re-checking must be made on the prescribed form.
5.2 The attached Bass - form must be submitted with the application form in case of any imbursement.
(a) Learners who does not have a bank account must make use of their parent or guardian bank account details to complete a Bass form. (Faxes or copies of BASS - forms will not be acceptable)
