The WCED is conducting an analysis of the number of newly appointed teachers who have not yet been trained in the National Curriculum Statement (NCS) and teachers who are to be appointed as from 1 January 2006 who have not received such training. Principals of schools with such teachers are requested to reply electronically by 31 October 2005 to the following e-mail address: jmalies@pgwc.gov.za

Schools where all staff members have already had the opportunity for orientation should not respond.

2. Depending on the demand, the possibility of offering a variety of decentralised workshops in the EMDCs from 9 to 12 January is being investigated. It is envisaged that limited catering and travel allowances for WCED-paid teachers will be provided.
