1. The national Department of Education and the nine provincial education departments, in conjunction with First National Bank, will once again organise the Tirisano Schools' Choral Eisteddfod (TISCE) for primary and secondary schools in 2005.
2. The eisteddfod makes provision for the following sections:
(a) Grades R-2
(b) Grades R-4
(c) Grades 5-7
(d) Grades 8-9
(e) Grades 10-12
3. Music has been prescribed for all sections. Choirs that do not wish to participate in the categories for prescribed music may offer songs of their choice.
4. Elimination rounds will be held at a venue in each of the EMDCs during April and May. The best choirs and soloists in each EMDC will take part in the provincial finals in Cape Town from 27 to 29 May 2005.
5. The best choirs and soloists of each province will represent their respective provinces at the national finals in Johannesburg from 7 to 10 July 2005.
6. All schools are invited to participate in this eisteddfod. The rules for participation and the prescribed music are available from the following Curriculum Advisers (Arts and Culture):
